TAKE BOLD ACTION

Help Us Help Them!

Volunteering with HIS-OC helps all the people we serve and our community. Our opportunities vary throughout the year but are regularly updated on this page, so please check back often for active volunteer opportunities. No matter what your skills, we can find a way for you to help us help them.  Not all volunteer programs are active at this time due to COVID restrictions.

If you are looking to get engaged as part of your community organization, church, school or corporate group, please Contact Us or call (714) 993-5774 ext 1008.

Volunteer Opportunities Include:

Periodically, we host a Saturday Workday at HIS-OC to help our community stay safe, clean and well-maintained. Projects may include painting, gardening, seasonal safety, and holiday preparation, or general cleaning of common community spaces or residential rooms for incoming families. Shifts typically last 3-4 hours. Volunteers of all ages are welcome and volunteering in groups of 10 or more is highly encouraged. Work Days are by appointment only.

Prepare our residents for the workforce through assisting in resume building, mock interviews, and dress prep.

Volunteers to help with our children while parents are in classes. Volunteers will play games and read with children. We are looking for volunteers on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 6:45 pm to 8:30 pm and on Saturdays from 9 am to 12 pm.

Gather your friends and host a sports or arts and crafts learning day camp for our children.
